This refers to Special Group Term Insurance with a ₱16,000 death benefit (P32,000 accidental death benefit) collected by AFPMBAI on behalf of the national government. 

This group insurance coverage was effected by Presidential Decree No. 352 in 1973. 

The ₱12.00 cost of insurance is shared equally between the government and AFP, BFP, and PCG personnel, thus, the ₱6.00 payslip deduction.
